Joe and Will have now experienced their first real concert...Weird Al Yankovic at the Illinois State Fair! Does it get any better than that? For those of you who haven't been paying attention (or maybe you weren't watching Mtv in the '80s?) Weird Al is a very talented guy who creates parodies of popular songs. Sam was a big fan back when he was about 10 or 12 so Jeff and I have been listening to Al for a very long time.

They even got to cheer Weird Al onto an encore...except now we wave cell phones instead of cigarette lighters.
Prior to the Weird Al concert, the Beans and the Koski families did all the regular State Fair stuff including the rides on the midway. Will isn't much into rides (takes after his Mama) but Joe and Nicholas and Muriel were all about the Himalaya!
Even though Jeff and I hadn't been there since 1994, rest assured that the Illinois State Fair is still the same...hot, crowded and the best spot for people watching...ever!
