Visiting Indy

Patti, Will, Joe and I drove over to see the Hedenbergs on Thursday and had a great time. After a delicious lunch at Red Robin, we drove into Indianapolis and walked around downtown.

The Soldiers and Sailors Monument is pretty darn tall and guess what? It's really, really hot up in the observation deck.

After riding up a tiny elevator that must have been installed during the Civil War, we had 48 more steps to go before we could enjoy the view. We looked, we enjoyed and then we got the heck outa there.

Leslie was cool, calm and collected despite the heat and trying to help a 3yr old and a 5yr old manuever the scary steps.

The view was pretty but we were ready to go after about two minutes and then it was on to ice cream!
