About ten years ago, I bought two wisteria plants from a local nursery. The grand plan was to have a pergola with beautiful wisteria dripping from overhead. Well, the wisteria grew and Jeff finally built a pergola but all the plants ever produced were leaves....until this year. I discovered (several years after planting them) that wisteria doesn't bloom this far north, something the local nursery should have known. But with the mild winter we've experienced this year, I guess the wisteria decided to prove me wrong.
Unfortunately, the blooms are all on top of the pergola! The only way to enjoy them is to look out the second floor windows. Mother Nature wins again.
