Seriously, it feels like it should be at least Thursday.
It's Homecoming week here at NCHS and that means the natives are restless...and loud...and hormonally charged...and well, just a little crazier than usual. Schedules are altered, hallways and classroom doors are decorated, evenings are packed with activities, romances are blossoming and crashing on an hourly basis and teachers are tired and cranky.
But Autumn has always been my favorite time of year and honestly, it is lots of fun. Actually, high school is so much more fun when you are not actually living through it.
So think back to your best (and worst!) high school homecoming memories and know that a whole new generation is surviving the highs and lows. It will take a few years but they'll be able to laugh about it some day too.
