The Obsession Continues...

Last weekend at Mom's house while cleaning out closets, we came upon more old photos. I was thrilled of course, but unfortunately few photos have any notes jotted on the back. Ones that do have info usually have something like "This was taken the last time they came to visit." Grrrrr.

A word to the wise...write who, when and where on all your photos! Someday your great granddaughter will thank you.

Here's an example, I think this might be Martha Patton(our Grandmother Grace Starky Ross's mother) on the left with her sisters Mary Ester, Susan, Rachel and/or Lucinda.

And here is a photo of her later in life after they moved to Utah. This is all speculation on my part but pieces are starting to fit.

But this has to be my new favorite photo...George Ross and Grace Starkey dated Christmas Day 1919. This was taken either the day after they got married or the day after their second wedding anniversary. Either way, they look so sweet and happy and so different from the somber, stern faces we see just a few years later.
